In this class you’ll learn how to use procreate on the iPad. Through this 3 month workshop you’ll learn to create digital illustrations in a way that feels intuitive and natural. This class will cover the function of all tools, including hidden tools and gestures which make creating digital work both easier and fun. Plus you’ll learn how to make and share time lapse videos of your art.

Through a fun focus on fantasy themes we’ll have a focus on creature and character design which will teach you about foundations of illustrating anatomy, as well as fun digital skills such as photo bashing and digital image editing.

Students will animate their own characters performing an action (walking, jumping, running, throwing/kicking an object, etc…), as well as performing some others actions to help tell their story.

All levels welcome. Students are welcome to take this class several times and keep improving their animation skills.

During this course you will have completed several projects including:

✨And a fantasy storytelling illustration.

3. Image references and split screens

4. Color pickers and palettes

5. Brush basics and advanced brush settings

6. Layer basics

7. Advanced layer settings: shading techniques and masks and clipping masks (drawing inside the lines)

8. Selections, cut, copy, paste, plus transform tools

9. Recoloring tools

10. Drawing assistance (‘quick shape, symmetry, clone)

11. Adding text

12. Accessibility settings

13. Gallery and organising your arts

14. Sharing and exporting art (pdfs and psds)

15. Quick intro to animation in procreate

We have plenty of iPads and styluses, however, you are welcome to bring your own.
