Lara Akmehmet

Your student will be guided by a passionate comic artist and storyteller who completed her postgraduate studies at the University of Oregon, graduating with academic honors and earning membership in the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature with special focuses in social theory and comic theory, and she previously served for several years as the Art Director of her university’s comic publication group. With extensive experience teaching students from kindergarten through college, she brings a warm, supportive, and knowledgeable presence to the classroom helping young artists build skills, confidence, and a love for creative expression.
